Mayor visits Christmas babies
Tshwane executive mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa gave up his Christmas day to visit new born babies at various hospitals and clinics in the city.
Tshwane mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa literally wore the hat of Santa Claus as he visited different hospitals on Christmas day to thank the medical staff who were working on the day as well as give a warm welcome to babies born on 25 December.
Ramokgopa was accompanied by the MMC for Health and Social Development Eulenda Mabusa.
He thanked the hospital management for working on Christmas day.
“Thank you Steve Biko for welcoming us to share Christmas with our people, yours is a well-run institution, from security to your hygiene procedures.”
Among other hospitals Ramokgopa also visited were George Mukhari Hospital in Ga-Rankuwa where he met with the mother of a newly born baby.
Ramokgopa wore a Christmas hat and gave the new mothers Christmas hampers and gifts.
Ramokgopa shared a brief moment with mothers and Christmas babies, kissing and squeezing the babies’ cheeks.
