Mpho Malatjie from the Pretoria CBD hopes to change the world with his first book titled The Devine vessel .
The 28-year-old who hails from Ga-Sekhukhune in Limpopo said it was his first motivational book.
“My book is a vessel of hope for those who want to bring about positive change in their lives. It is based on the Word of God,” Malatjie said.
He said his writing journey started when he worked for a state entity as a copy editor. He started writing The Devine vessel in January last year.
“I always looked for an opportunity to inspire people and make a difference in their lives. I am not an ordained pastor but I believe I should not wait to spread God’s word,” Malatjie said.
He currently works full-time for a government department as an employment practitioner and intends starting his own publishing company to assist blossoming motivational authors.
Being a lover of words, Malatjie said he listened to music while he was writing.
“I listen to all types of music, as long as it is worth listening to. My favourite song is The weakness in me by Joan Armatrading,” he said.
Malatjie thanked his family for their support and being his beacon of hope, more especially his mother Olga and his father Derreck.
“They have been through a lot but were able to give us a good life in spite of their challenges,” he said.
Malatjie urged aspiring authors to believe in themselves and to work hard.
“Always believe in your own capabilities before others do because if you believe in yourself and work hard, then others will believe in you,” Malatjie said.
