Irene Moonlight Fun Run has good turnout

Hundreds of runners turned up for the Irene Primary Moonlight Fun Run.

Irene Primary School held its annual Moonlight Fun Run through the village of Irene on Friday night.

The first race, an 8km, started at 18:30 and was followed by the 4km race at 19:00.

Young and old as well as wheelchair contestants competed and the first 10 men and women, as well as the winners of each category, each received prizes.

Water points provided refreshment along the route and a medical support team was ready to assist those in need.

The event proved to be a fun filled evening and managed to attract a substantial crowd into the little village.
