Two injured in Akasia crash

“Upon arrival, medics found that both drivers had sustained injuries.”

The driver of a bakkie sustained critical injuries when his vehicle collided with another vehicle in Akasia on Friday morning.

The accident happened on the corner of Doreen Avenue and Brits Road just before 06:00.

Smart Ambulance services spokesperson Sello Kekana said the bakkie and a Kia Picanto sedan were involved in the collision.

“Upon arrival, medics found that both drivers had sustained injuries,” said Kekana.

“The driver of the bakkie was critical and was stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospital.”

The driver of the Kia sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
