Tshwane customer care services affected by illegal protest action

The Tshwane metro said that the personnel at customer care centres have been intimidated by the striking workers since Tuesday.

Customer care services such as power failures, sewerage blockage, water meters, pipe leakages as well as waste collection have been compromised due to an ongoing strike by municipal workers.

The Tshwane metro said that personnel at customer care centres have been intimidated by the striking workers since Tuesday.

“There is currently no personnel at the centres to attend to calls and e-mails. Only the SMS lines – 44676 and 082-612-0333 – for reporting power failure complaints are operational.

“Residents are advised to anticipate delays on the turn-around on calls logged through these lines as some of our technicians are being intimidated by protesters.”

The city urged residents to remain patient during this period.
