TMPD officer collapses, dies in CBD

The 35-year-old warden was tasked with performing his duties in the Pretoria CBD when he suddenly collapsed and died.

The Tshwane metro police (TMPD) is greatly saddened by the sudden death of one of its members, it said on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the member died while performing his duties.

“The 35-year-old warden was tasked with performing his duties in the Pretoria CBD when he suddenly collapsed and died.”

Mahamba said the the cause of his death was not yet known.

“As the TMPD, we are shocked and saddened to lose a dedicated and hard-working member. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues and friends.”

He said arrangements for the memorial service and funeral would be communicated soon.
