Driver injured in Rooihuiskraal taxi accident

The taxi was found lying on its side off the roadway with the driver still inside.

A 47-year-old man sustained serious injuries when a taxi rolled over on the R101 in Rooihuiskraal on Sunday morning.

ER24 paramedics spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said the accident took place around 06:00.

“When our paramedics arrived at the scene they found the taxi lying on its side off the roadway and the driver still inside the taxi,” he said.

“Upon further assessment, they found that the man had sustained serious injuries.”

Huyssteen said the man was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are unknown.
