Roulette tournament concludes, player wins big

“It’s fantastic to see people come from all over the country to what is the most beautiful casino in South Africa.

After what can only be described as a year with little to no events and opportunities, people were ecstatic to attend the Black Pearl Roulette Tournament that took place at Menlyn Time Square on Saturday.

The “We Will Rock You” event was characterised by glitz, glamour, and thrill-a-minute extravaganzas in pursuit of being “the biggest, the best and the most memorable’”, from the casino floor to the penthouse.

The event was the final to the tournament that started on 15 October, with a total of 52 players. On Saturday the final four players participated in a “nail-biting” tournament that resulted in Ray Adams taking home the R1-million prize money.

The 52 other players that were drawn from qualifying rounds at 11 Sun International properties from all over the country, were invited to attend the final round and were treated to a delicious three-course meal, drinks and musical entertainment.

Also in attendance was Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida who presented the cheque for R1-million to Adams.

“The Black Pearl is an iconic tournament. The qualifying rounds may have started in October, but we’ve been working since July, to make this happen. Now the day is finally here. We really want to make a splash and set a precedent of high standards for the Black Pearl tournaments to follow – in addition to treating our guests like royalty,” said tournament director Patrick “Ace” Buthelezi.

Time Square GM Ruben Gooranah echoed Buthelezi’s sentiments.

“It’s fantastic to see people come from all over the country to what is the most beautiful casino in South Africa.  It’s a great day, with incredible prizes on offer. Here’s to having fun and celebrating the winner,” he said.

Sunbet general manager Nits’ Matai, who also attended the event, told players that they can look forward to an eventful gaming revolution with regards to the casino’s plans for gaming.

“A series of online and casino-based tournaments will be held.”

The stage is set and the wheels have been greased for some epic South African gaming. Take a look online for more details.
