The two learners drowned during a discipline camp at Rock Falls Adventure Ranch in Centurion on Monday afternoon.

Here is what we know thus far about the tragic drownings:

Both boys, aged 13 and 16, are learners of the Daveyton Skills School in Benoni.
The boys were attending a discipline camp by a non-governmental organisation called the Rising Stars Generation.
It is believed the discipline camp is not organised of affiliated with the school.
The incident happened during a discipline camp at Rock Falls Adventure Ranch in Centurion.
One of the learners suddenly ran towards a nearby river close to the campsite entrance on Monday. A second learner followed in an attempt to bring him back.
Mabona said it is further alleged that the learner who ran off jumped into the river, prompting the second learner to try and rescue him.
Both boys drowned and were declared dead on the scene.
Circumstances leading to the drowning incident remain a subject of investigation by the SAPS.
Psycho-Social Support Unit will be dispatched to the school to provide necessary trauma support and counselling.
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane will visit Daveyton Skills School in Benoni on Wednesday.
The purpose of the visit is to ascertain more details about the circumstances which led to this tragic incident in order to determine a way forward.
The names of the two boys have not yet been made public.
