Masandwana and TS Galaxy all square in Mbombela

Peter Shalulile saved Mamelodi Sundowns with a late goal in the DStv Premiership match against TS Galaxy, who battled to a 1-1 draw at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday.

The highly anticipated return fixture saw both teams display their determination and skill in a match that lived up to its pre-game hype.

The Rockets were eager to maintain their unbeaten home record this season, and the Brazilians were equally determined to uphold their unbeaten run.

From the kick-off whistle, both teams applied high pressure, which resulted in an intense and fast-paced game.

While Bafana Ba Style controlled large spells of possession, TS Galaxy managed to create more goal-scoring opportunities, mostly in the first half.

The hosts tested Downs goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, with three shots on target, but his anticipation and timing denied TS Galaxy a goal in the first half.

The game continued to be an end-to-end battle, with both teams threatening the goal.

Rivaldo Coetzee took a long-range strike from outside the TS Galaxy box, but the Galaxy keeper smashed the ball away.

The Rockets continuously knocked on the door and finally broke the deadlock in the 78th minute.

After facing a storm from the hosts, Masandwana showed their resilience and managed to level matters through a late header from Shalulile.

Despite the two goals, both teams continued to threaten until the final whistle.

The game ended with a 1-1 draw between the two sides.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ lineup included Williams, Mudau, Modiba, Coetzee, Lebusa, Mbule, Mkhulise, Allende, Matthews, Nku, and Shalulile.

Subs included Tshabalala, Mvala, Lunga, Mokoena, Maboe, Mabena, Maema, Esquivel, and Morena.
