Police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in a cash-in-transit (CIT) heist that took place on May 3 along Rammapudu Road in Mamelodi East.
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo, reported that the incident involved a G4S armoured cash van that was allegedly ambushed by suspects.
According to information the suspects were using a Mercedes-Benz vehicle to execute the robbery.
While no gunshots were reported during the robbery, the van reportedly rolled during the ambush, leaving the driver injured. He was later transported to a nearby clinic in Mamelodi for medical attention.

Masondo said the security guards who were driving the cash van sustained minor injuries due to the impact when the van was ramped.
“Police can confirm the incident and that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. A manhunt for the suspects has been launched,” said Masondo.
At this stage, the number of suspects remains unknown, and no arrests have been made.
