THE women of Polokwane stand to benefit from R500 000 that cosmetics giant, Avroy Shlain plans to invest in the development of South African women.
The well-known cosmetics company announced that they will invest in the Women’s Enterprise Development as part of their 40th birthday celebrations.
Avroy Shlain director of sales, Ria Cassel says 400 women will be trained to become direct sellers and each of them will receive a starter-kit to start their own business after the training.
She says Polokwane has been identified as beneficiary to invest in encouraging women to start their own businesses. Cassel says the company will also spread its wings of investments across the country.
Avroy Shlain CEO, Justin Hewett says the project is not only about a recruitment drive for sales professionals, but an opportunity for Avroy Shlain to do something meaningful.
“We intend hosting workshops where women will receive guidance and incentives to start their own business, improve their lives and earn additional income in these tough economic times. We will give each woman a starter-kit valued at R335 so that they can begin selling and making money.”
He says sales training would be given to each individual and he believes this will make a difference in thousands of women’s lives.
Hewett says no college or university degree or education is required to start a business. “You need the desire, the confidence and the opportunity to really enhance your life.”
The Polokwane workshop will be held on October 12 and people can contact Esta Hatting at 082 783 2113 for more information.
