Cerebral palsy home Judy’s Paradise receives welcomes financial boost

Judy's Paradise Home for Cerebral Palsy Children in Zone A, Lebowakgomo, recently received a donation of R20 000 from Old Mutual Broker Distribution in Polokwane.

LEBOWAKGOMO – Judy’s Paradise Home for Cerebral Palsy Children in Zone A, Lebowakgomo, recently received a donation of R20 000 from Old Mutual Broker Distribution in Polokwane.

The money was handed over to the home on June 25.

The home was identified by Barel Mamabolo from Old Mutual through a community developer programme.

Sara Mallela, a qualified teacher, established the home in 2002.

“My child has cerebral palsy and I felt the need to do something to help children suffering from this disability and that is why I opened the home with my own resources,” Mallela said.

There are 25 children at the home from different parts of Limpopo and there are 10 caregivers.

Mallela rents a house to accommodate the children and caregivers.

According to Mallela the department of health and the department of social development occasionally assist by sending therapists to help children improve their motor neuron skills.

Mamabolo says the money will help the centre fence their stand in Zone F where they will be building a permanent home for these children.

“Mallela must continue doing this God’s calling to the needy and all is not in vain she will get her reward one day,” Mamabolo said.

Anyone who wants to help the centre in any form of donation can contact Sara Mallela at 082 548 5402.
