POLOKWANE – The Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 held their annual induction dinner at the Pietersburg Club on June 27.
The evening started with the reading of the club’s objectives and the four-way test.
A brief history of the club was also given along with the different projects they have been involved in and the difference they have made over the years.
After the main course was served, the main event of the evening kicked off with the introduction of the new president of the club and the new Ann for the coming year.
The former president, Bruno Tsehudin introduced the member of the year and mentioned the different projects that have stood out in the previous year such as a local water project and team building projects. Tsehudin also handed over the award for the rotarian of the year to Richard Wilson.
“I would like to thank all the Rotarians for their hands-on approach on each and every project that we took on. We are often not aware of the big difference we make in the lives of other people,” Tsehudin said.
The new president, Tinus Jacobsz was announced and the new president badge was awarded to him.
“This is a tremendous honour and I would like to thank all the people in advance for their support and willingness to stand with me in the coming year in our future projects,” Jacobsz said.
He announced two projects that he would like to kick-start; a newsletter from the Rotary Club stating what they are doing in the community and the establishment of a road track.
The former Rotary Ann, Jenny Tsehudin was given the opportunity to introduce the next Ann, Ann Prinsloo and thanked the people who assisted in the different school and food projects in the past year.
She also awarded Marlene Wilson the Ann of the year award.
“Projects like the Rethabile Créche at Mankweng where we were able to provide for all the educational tools and furniture will remain something very dear to my heart and I am looking forward to still being involved in the projects,” Tsehudin said.
Prinsloo thanked the former Ann for her contribution saying she was looking forward to building on the good work that had been done.
