Eskom is implementing stage 1 load shedding today(Saturday) from 08:00-22:00, stage 1 load shedding on Sunday.
POLOKWANE – Eskom is implementing stage 1 load shedding today from 08:00-22:00.
And stage 1 load shedding on Sunday, due to urgent maintenance at power stations.
Eskom assures all customers that load shedding is done as a last resort, when absolutely necessary to protect the power system.
Any unexpected change on the constrained and vulnerable power system will lead to a change in the stage of load shedding.
We will keep you updated. See Polokwane schedule below article.
Using your appliances effectively can lower the risk of load shedding.
Did you know? The power system will remain constrained and vulnerable for the next two to three years until we have sufficient units on line from our new build projects.
The info-graphic (below) explains how our National Control Centre balances supply and demand supply being generation capacity and demand being the amount of electricity that users require at a given time.
It also explains the summer and winter profiles. In summer you can see that the demand is high throughout the day. This we call the ‘Table Mountain’ profile, whereas in winter the demand is high during the morning and evening periods which is what we refer to as morning and evening peaks.
