Rosebank College, a brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) will be opening its first digitally enabled connected campus in Polokwane soon.
Students are invited to enrol for the 2016 academic year and be among the first pioneers to be part of the Rosebank College’s digital revolution in education where students can harness the potential of the digital world by enrolling today.
Higher education is currently undergoing fundamental transformation and digital technologies are leading this transformation. While campuses remain, digital technologies are transforming the way education is delivered and accessed, as well as the way in which value is created by higher education providers.
“The speed of change in digital technologies is what makes this new connected campus such an exciting place to learn. High speed internet connectivity and high tech IT laboratories within a WiFi enabled campus offer the perfect setting for exploration into a wider world that aids learning and experimentation,” says Moses Motha, National Teaching and Learning Manager at Rosebank College.
“All learning activities are relevant, innovative and responsive. Students are also encouraged to explore avenues beyond the classroom to acquire a meaningful interpretation of what they learn on campus,” adds Motha.
The campus will make use of digital technologies and blended learning, which are said to be where education is headed in the future. This uniquely enabled campus offers a carefully planned blend of both classroom instruction and online learning activities.
Lecturers or tutors will be able to teach in the classroom at the campus or from any other location using the online tools within this learning management system, which includes online classrooms with video and other interactive abilities.
“This is a technology-powered learning environment, which allows our lecturers and students to share, gather and create knowledge resources and networks for the benefit of our students through the use of technology,” says Greg Fillmore, Rosebank College Managing Director.
