Take note of these road closures ahead of the State of the City

Roads in and around the Polokwane Municipality and the Jack Botes precinct will be open from time to time between 07:00 and 15:00 on Tuesday (April 30).

POLOKWANE – As Polokwane Mayor John Mpe gears up to deliver his third State of the City Address, motorists should take note of the following road closures tomorrow.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said there will be activities taking place on Landdros Mare Street to the Jack Botes Hall precinct via Bodenstein Streets.

“In order to facilitate the smooth conduct of this event and ensure the safety of all attendees, certain streets will be closed to traffic during specific times,” his statement read.

Affected streets and closure details are as follows:

1. Hans van Rensburg Street:
– Closed between Jorissen Street and Bodenstein Street
2. Bodenstein Street:
– Closed between Hans van Rensburg Street and Church Street

Complete closure for the duration of the State of the City Address:

1. Bodenstein Street:
– Closed between Landros Mare Street and Church Street

As a result of the complete closure, the following streets will be affected:

– Market Street between Rabe Street and Bodenstein Street
– General Joubert Street between Rabe Street and Bodenstein Street

Selala said a parade will commence from the Library Gardens at 08:30 and proceed directly to Jack Botes Hall.

“Please note the roads will be closed and open from time to time from 07:00 to 15:00 in line with the event’s activities,” he said.

Selala added that parking at the Civic Centre will not be accessible on the day to allow for preparations of the event.
