Late last year Tata launched the Bolt and it quickly became a popular vehicle as more of this brand is roaming the city’s streets.
The Bolt is designed to make heads turn and engineered to set your pulse racing. The word bolt signifies speed, representing an attitude of winning and staying ahead. This attitude is embodied in the Bolt in all aspects of design, drive and seamless connectivity making it an enticing combination of stunning design, thrilling performance and exciting technology.
The Bolt is sporty yet approachable, thrilling but safe and is ready to perform and eager to please with amazing standard features and technology.
Tata took extra considerations for convenience, including the height-adjustable driver’s seat, adjustable headrests, electric outside mirrors, front passenger vanity mirror, door open and key-in reminder, driver seatbelt reminder and auto door lock.
The real differentiator that makes the Tata Bolt stand out from the crowd is the ConnectNext experience, which features the 5 inch touchscreen, advanced voice command recognition, SMS notification and read outs and fully automatic temperature controls. Tata has worked closely with Harman International Industries to design and engineer an acoustic audio and infotainment system which allows the driver to stay connected.
The exterior design is sleek and big headlights conveniently path the way to the rear of the hatchback and sedan where a classic invention meets the eye.
The Tata Bolt is equipped with a Revotron 1,2 litre turbo engine and delivers a powerful 66 kW of power at 5 000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1 500 and 4 000 rpm. The five-speed manual gearbox works well with the engine and with 44 litre capacity fuel tank and excellent fuel consumption, the Tata Bolt will take you a long way hassle free.
The Bolt offers a hatchback or sedan models. Both are extremely versatile offering ample luggage space. The hatchback offers 210 litres of boot space while the sedan has an extra 150 litres to spare.
The Bolt also features a ground clearance of 165 mm on the hatchback and 175 mm on the sedan which ensures a comfortable drive on gravel roads.
The Tata Bolt is sure to continue making its mark in the entry level market with pricing ranging from just over R150 000 for a hatchback and just over R160 000 for an entry level sedan.
Safety features on the Tata Bolt include dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC).
