Fight against abuse

In most of the cases it is children that are the victims of physical and sexual abuse.

BETHAL – The police conducted an awareness campaign about child abuse at the Imbuma Primary School at Palmfontein Farm on Thursday, 7 November.

Pupils were given a chance to have a conversation directly with the police over the challenges they face at home.

Members of the Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, Const Viddy Theledi and Const Nomfundo Nkosi, assured pupils they would do everything in their power to ensure their safety and that perpetrators will face the long arm of the law.

Const Mapule Tlou said: “In most of the cases it is children that are the victims of physical and sexual abuse.

“They need to speak out in order for police to put perpetrators behind bars.”
