DA celebrates youth day at eMbalenhle

Fatigue took its toll and the DA scored three goals.

eMBALENHLE – The Mpumalanga DA held a Youth Sports Day to commemorate the importance of the youth in the country.

The DA said the reason for choosing sports, was because they cannot forget the role that sports played in unifying South Africans across racial and cultures barriers.

The DA youth’s aim was to remember the vision the late Pres Nelson Mandela had when he supported the 1995 Springbok Rugby Team.

Pres Mandela united different races at a time when racial tension was at a high.

The DA Vision 2029 Charter indicates a society that is united as different races and cultures co-exist and together take South Africans out of poverty stricken settlements by offering the opportunities of a better life for all.

The DA Mpumalanga chose 15 soccer players from local municipalities to play against a local team, West United from eMbalenhle, under the captainship of Thomas Radebe.

The DA players had never practiced together before and despite this, they held off an attacking and fully kitted team and the score was 1-0 to the eMbalenhle team at half time.

In the second half, fatigue took its toll and the DA scored another three goals.
