Be the role model

If you are a couch potato, chances are your children will follow suit. It’s up to you to set the tone, so get up, get active and start implementing healthy habits, be it walking the dog before dinner, going for a family park run on a Saturday morning, or a Sunday cycle excursion. All you need is 30 minutes of playing soccer in the garden to get the blood flow pumping.

Involve friends and extended family

Use birthdays or Christmas to gift your kids an activity such as zip-lining, tickets to go ice skating or surfing lessons to get the family out and about while learning new skills together.
