Autism South Africa is the recognised representative national body for people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Founded in 1989 by a group of concerned parents and professionals, their mission is to ensure a meaningful quality of life for people living with ASD.

Autism SA strives to fulfil the educational, psychological and physical needs of children and adults with autism, as well as supporting the families, providers and communities they are a part of.

Their goals are to educate the public at large, so as to foster understanding, to assist in research, and build facilities in disadvantaged communities. To lobby for legislature when necessary, and to offer support and guidance for people with ASD.
