Two critical after Florida collision – 10 June
Two men were found in a critical condition following a motorcycle condition on Ontdekkers Road earlier today (10 June).
A father (50) and his son (17) were travelling on a motorcycle when a bakkie allegedly turned in front of them, causing the collision, according to witnesses on scene. The collision occurred near the Koppie Street intersection at around 1.15 pm. Some state that the men were flung into the air before landing in the road.
ER 24 paramedics found both men on the side of the road upon arrival where onlookers stood around the men, offering assistance. Advanced life support was performed on both patients, according to ER 24 spokesperson Russell Meiring. They were then transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for further medical treatment.
“The bakkie’s driver had no injuries but was on scene,” said Meiring.
“Local authorities were on scene to investigate the exact cause of the collision.”
