Rainy day the cause of accident

STRUBEN'S VALLEY – Slow down and pay attention to vehicles in front and next to you, said ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak.

At about 4pm on 11 November two vehicles collided on Christiaan de Wet Road.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said he is unsure of how the accident happened but apparently one car lost control and slid into another vehicle on the left-hand side of Christiaan de Wet Road, opposite Clearwater Mall.

“Our paramedics were on scene and luckily no one was hurt,” Vermaak said.

He explained that the rain and wet roads have a big impact on accidents as motorists tend to make more mistakes in the rain.

“We urge motorists to be vigilant while driving and don’t allow yourself to be distracted by your cellphone or passengers, as a split second break in your concentration can cause an accident. Slow down because speed is a big killer,” concluded Vermaak.
