Resident rattled after road rage incident
Elsabe Steyn was left in tears on Tuesday night 12 May after she was allegedly verbally abused while driving home.
The incident occurred on Christiaan de Wet and Ontdekkers Roads. It was during peak hour traffic and Elsabe was in line to turn left at the traffic lights.
“There were so many vehicles in front and behind me. I wanted to create some space between myself and the car ahead which was three metres,” said Elsabie.
The driver of the vehicle behind her was not happy with Elsabe not closing the gap to the vehicle ahead of her. He allegedly hurled various abusive words towards Elsabe, including the “K”-word.
“I was shocked at the kind of language he used because there was no need to. The vehicles ahead of me were not moving at a rapid pace that he needed to be in a hurry. This incident left me rattled and I’m scared because he might do more if he sees me on the road again,” she said.
