Santa to visit Wilro Park
Join the fun as Santa will be at Ridgeview Shopping Centre and later at the Wilro Park Lions Club on December 13.
It is that time of the year again, when Santa will be visiting Wilro Park and Helderkruin all the way from the North Pole.
Warnich Grimselle, a Helderkruin resident and founder of the Santa Parade, is extending an invitation to the greater community to join in this festive fun with Santa on December 13 at Ridgeview Shopping Centre from 11:00.
The day will feature a lot of festivities, including live music, kids’ activities, community stalls, and lots of engagement. Santa will leave the centre later in a convoy to the Wilro Park Lions Club for even more fun.
According to Wilro Lions president Sandy van Heerden, Warnich started this initiative four years ago, with one purpose: To spread joy, happiness, love, and a festive spirit in the community during the holiday season.
“A significant part of this initiative is the club’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a heartfelt tribute to the late Molly Francis, past president of the Wilro Lions.
“Molly passed away on Christmas Day in 2010, and since then every year the Christmas tree lights are switched on to honour her legacy of kindness, community service, and bringing light to others,” said Sandy.
“We encourage the public to decorate their cars, dress up for the festive occasion, and join in the day’s joyful celebrations. Your participation adds colour, energy, and magic to the event – both during the daytime festivities and Santa’s Stop at the Lion’s Club and the evening convoy,” she added.
Family photo booths and refreshments will be on sale at the club.
