On 14 February, the Parktown Girls community service, marimba and orchestra learners packed into four combis alongside drum kits, marimba sticks and milk tarts to visit the Rosehaven Retirement Home in Roosevelt Park.
Running around in the rain, the community service team set up the tea with ease and efficiency at the home. The orchestra also tuned up and marimbas assembled their instruments.

The residents of the village thoroughly enjoyed the visit which brought together music, food, service and energy. One resident expressed that he was at a loss for words at the kindness shown by the school. Parktown staff, learners, coaches and ground staff as well as Rosehaven residents parted ways with big smiles on their faces and full hearts.
