Stand Up against E-Toll

SANDTON - The Stand-Up against E-toll performance is guaranteed to be a laugh a minute with a direct human rights message attached.

The performance will feature well-known stand-up comedian, Mel Miller Alistair Plint at The Auto and General Theatre on the Square on 8 December.

For 50 years, stand-up comedian Miller, who recently celebrated his 72nd birthday, said he’s been fighting the injustice of ridiculous government initiatives from the theatre stage, “And they think I’m joking” quirks Miller.

With his special gift of his side-splitting humour, Miller has lived in, spoken out, and been arrested for his hard hitting views on the apartheid era, the current government and most things in between.

He now he joins Proudly E-tag Free to add his voice to the injustice of “tagging human beings like they are animals on a farm”.

Plint who has shared a fruitful career in the arts alongside Miller joins the Stand Up Against E-Toll show team.

Mel and Alistair have a list of successful performances that date back as far as 2004 and are now stepping out of a three-year hiatus for the purpose of this one night only performance.

“We are ready to salute the gantry properly,” said Plint.

With Stand Up Against E-Toll, we expect South African stand-up comedy to return to its roots and embrace the freedom of speech and opinion layered laughter and performance art.
