Win bursary from International Hotel School

JOBURG - INTERNATIONAL Hotel School (IHS) is inviting 2015 matrics to participate in its annual bursary competition.

The competition is open to all who are passionate about the hospitality and culinary industry.

The bursaries offered cover tuition fees for any of the school’s programmes valued up to R225 000.

Ruth Paulsen, marketing manager for the school said the ideal candidates were those who were ambitious and have a dream to run their own hotel or restaurant one day.

For bursary hopefuls there are two project stages to complete. All documentation needs to be submitted to the campus of choice on or before 29 May. Semifinalists will be notified within 14 working days and will move on to the next set of challenges.

Grant Markram, a previous bursary winner said, “It’s an empowering feeling. When I applied for an IHS bursary I did so independently. It was the greatest thing I could have done for myself. Not many students can say they ‘paid’ their own way through college or university, but I can.”

Micaela Newton, another winner feels that besides the obvious financial benefit, the bursary has brought value to her life in other ways. “It’s given me confidence in my work. Having IHS appreciate me and see me as an asset in the hospitality industry, has allowed me to excel.”
