In a thrilling display of skill and determination, budding football talents from ages 6 to 13 took centre stage in a showcase game that left spectators in awe.
The soccer games, held at George Lea Park (Sandton Sports Club), served as a platform for these young athletes to exhibit their prowess on the field and captivate audiences with their sheer love for the game.
From precision passes to jaw-dropping dribbles, the young players showcased a wide array of skills that belied their age. With each touch of the ball, they demonstrated a level of technique and finesse that left onlookers marvelling at their potential.
Head coach of the Warriors FC, Herold Matodzi said, “Warriors FC had the football off to a good start with boys and girls showing off their skills.”
He added that the family members came in numbers to support the young stars, which has become a tradition every weekend during the season.
“The U8 were sharp in action as they thrashed Marlboro Gardens 13-0 in their opening match.”
Matodzi explained that Luyolo David for Warriors FC U8 commanded as they went neck-to-neck with city ballers in a one-all-draw box-to-box encounter.
“It was our first weekend of the season, and we took off on a good or positive start with some good football skills.”
