Meet Morkie from Buccleuch

Meet Rufus and Teddy – Buccleuch’s friendly Morkies, and their handler David Corlett.

It was too hot a day in Buccleuch to have two gorgeous Morkies shatter cuteness charts with their adorable smiles, and bubbly personalities.

Rufus (5) and Teddy (2) were taking their weekly weekend walk through John Street Park with their owner, David Corlett when the friendly pair chose to waddle over to greet this journalist.

“They’re the same breed – called Morkie – which is a Maltese-Yorkie cross-breed,” said Corlett. “They are rescued dogs.”

Corlett brings the pair with him to the park when it’s time for the house dogs to get some steps into their routine.

“I try to make it at weekends,” said Corlett. “It gives me a bit of fresh air as well.”

As far as treats go, Corlett expressed how he is careful with how he rewards his companions, as certain edible items can be harmful to dogs.

“Well, you can’t really spoil dogs,” Corlett said. “You can only give them dog treats; you can’t give them anything that’s not made for dogs.”

For Corlett, Rufus and Teddy have brought an unmatched sense of peace and tranquillity to his life. He concluded with a note on what his dogs have brought into his life since meeting them.

“Well, they don’t moan or shout at me,” said a content Corlett.
