Sandton Mayhem packs a punch with explosive bouts and big knockouts
From blistering knockouts to title-winning performances, Sandton Mayhem proved that South African boxing is alive, fierce, and ready for the global stage.
Sandton Mayhem lived up to its name, delivering a night of pure boxing brilliance at The Galleria in Sandton.
Hosted by Aquila Boxing Promotions, the sold-out event on November 1 offered an electric blend of technical mastery, raw aggression, and unforgettable moments that had fans on their feet from start to finish.
The man behind the spectacle, boxing champion and promoter Kevin Lerena, once again proved his commitment to elevating South African boxing.

Through Aquila Boxing Promotions, Lerena and co-founder Geraldine Lerena continue to provide a world-class platform for both emerging and established fighters to showcase their talent and heart.
The evening kicked off with fireworks as Simnikiwe Bongco stopped Siphelele Sindane in just one minute and four seconds into the opening round, setting a high-octane tone for what was to come.
Tshegofatso Matlala showed immense grit despite a tough loss to Mxolisi Lahliwe, while Liam Fox and Ntokozo Msibi delivered one of the most evenly matched bouts of the night, ending in a thrilling majority draw.

In a crowd favourite, Luke Hendrikz and Sabelo Ndwandwe left everything in the ring, their relentless exchange earning them both an additional R10 000 for their show-stopping performance.
Gary van Staden edged out Ali Patsho Sambi of the DRC after a hard-fought tactical contest, while Leo Careri extended his winning streak with a fourth-round knockout of Jackson Kaptein, confirming his status as one of the sport’s rising stars.
Tiitestso Matikinca needed less than two rounds to dismantle Michael Davies with a clinical finish, while Lindokuhle Khuzwayo claimed the IBO All Africa Featherweight Title after a stunning second-round knockout of Rilwan Lawal, a defining moment that brought the crowd to its feet.
The main event saw Kaine ‘K9’ Fourie go toe-to-toe with Argentina’s Claudio Daneff for the IBO Intercontinental Lightweight Title.
Despite huge local support, Daneff secured a decisive victory two minutes into the second round.
