Groves and Vineyards … a highlight on the social calendar

The increasingly famous Groves and Vineyards Festival is returning to Casalinga Restaurant for its 12th year ... an event which is is, quite rightly, one of the most anticipated country festivals.

And this year the event promises to be as outstanding as ever. You’ll be treated to a fab selection of fine wines from around 45 top wine estates. There’ll also be bubbles, beer and gin,  rubbing delicious shoulders with olives, cheese and artisanal foods. Add to that live music from some of South Africa’s top bands, all in a setting that rivals the best in Joburg, and you’ve a date you simply can’t miss.

There’s a VIP experience – special parking, a magnificent harvest table available throughout the day, as well as special exclusive wine tastings. You’ll also have dedicated seating in the festival area to see your favorite bands play. There’ll be no children under 18 years allowed in this VIP area.

Alternatively … take the children … it’s a family affair. The festival, in the beautiful Muldersdrift countryside, provides a relaxed setting where the whole family can go and enjoy the sunshine before the winter chill sets in. Children younger than three are free and more than welcome. There’ll a supervised area for them to play while parents leisurely enjoy all the festival has to offer.

So diarise Saturday May 27 & Sunday May 28. It’s open form 10.30am to 6pm. Tickets cost R350 per person (includes a tasting glass for over 18s), R120 for children 4 to 17, children 3 and younger free, and VIP tickets R1000. Book at casalinga.co.za (very limited tickets at the door).

See you there … Casalinga Restaurant Rocky Ridge Road, Muldersdrift (opposite Garden World Nursery).
