Tweni couple back on African soil

The locals are now adventuring home through many African countries.

AFTER enjoying more than seven months in Europe, the travelling Tweni couple, Co and Evelyn Veringa, are finally back on the African continent.

The Dutch couple, Co (69) and Evelyn (43) who set out on their ‘Cape2Nordkapp’ trip earlier this year reached Nordkapp after 25 000 kilometres, passing through 26 countries and taking 142 days.

They took the ferry from Spain to Morocco, and are looking forward to travelling through Africa in the coming months, expecting to be back home at the end of March 2016.

The couple said that the northern African countries – Morocco, Western Sahara and Mauritania – were a lot of desert, but very beautiful.

“We are now in Dakar, Senegal the first of the West African countries. It’s so interesting to meet people on our way and to travel through a completely different world. It is very special that we’re able to do this,” they said this week.
