Give a gift this Christmas
You can teach your child the joy of giving this festive season.

THE Santa Shoebox Project, with its vision of people connecting through the ‘Joy of Giving’, will launch its seventh annual gift drive across South Africa this year.
Having reached the ambitious goal of collecting close on 100 000 gifts for children at over 1000 orphanages, crèches and care centres around the country last year, has set its sights on achieving this again in 2013, while extending its reach to include even more centres and schools in small towns and farming communities, who are in desperate need of assistance.
The project coordinators are now asking for people to fill a box for teenagers, aged 13 years and older.
Uniquely, donor parents and their children can get involved by personally selecting the name of a specific child from the selection lists on the website, and this means each participant knows the first name, age, and gender of the child.
Gift boxes are filled with some necessities, such as toothpaste and toothbrush, face cloth and soap, as well as some sweets, educational supplies, a toy and an outfit of clothing, individually chosen and filled.
Register online as a donor – all the info you need to know is available at www.santashoebox.co.za. Then drop off the box at the Port Shepstone Methodist Church on October 25 and 26 from 8am to 4pm. For more information contact Allison Keys at 082 3783333.
