Make a difference this winter

Checkers and Shoprite have teamed up with Community Chest for a winter collection campaign.

WITH the winter months upon us, many people will once again have to face the harsh weather without a roof over their heads, without a snug coat against the frosty wind, and with no food to provide nourishment and warmth. That is why Checkers and Shoprite have teamed up with Community Chest for a winter collection campaign that encourages customers to open their hearts and wrap those in need up in warmth.

The public is urged to contribute to this worthy cause by donating clothes, blankets and non-perishable foods by placing the items in the marked trolleys at the entrance of all Checkers, Checkers Hyper and Shoprite stores. Join the caring community by donating today or ask your cashier to add a donation amount to your groceries when paying at the till.

You can also sms ‘WARMHEARTS10’ and your name to 38806 to donate R10. Community Chest is a non-profit organisation with a national footprint, allowing distributions to take place in the most vulnerable communities.

Donations will be accepted  at  Port Shepstone, Southcoast Mall, Hibiscus Mall and Margate Shoprite, Checkers Hyper or Checkers branches from June 13 to August 15.
