Circumcision offered free of charge
Circumcision reduces the risk of contracting HIV/Aids.

MEN aged 14 years and up are invited to attend a free male medical circumcision (MMC) at the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital’s out-patient department this Saturday, June 28 at 7.30am.
Teenagers between 14 and 17 years are asked to have their parents or guardians with them to sign a consent form in order for the procedure to be done.
Phumza Morai, the hospital’s spokesman, said MMC is promoted as a means of reducing the risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections.
“The procedure is performed by trained health care professionals,” she said, adding that the men would receive wound care advice.
“It’s been proven that circumcised men are considerably less likely to contract HIV/Aids from their female partners,” she said. Lunch will be served.
