Former model’s message was meaningful

The women enjoyed a high tea on the lawns overlooking the beach.

SOME 80 women gathered to listen to the life-changing story of former model, Nadia van der Merwe Kleynhans at the Virtuous Woman’s Ministry conference held recently at St Michael’s Sands Hotel.

The conference was themed ‘Virtuous Woman and Herself’ and the women enjoyed a high tea on the lawns overlooking the beach.

The day started with a few fun games and a talk on grooming by Adelle Roger, who is an image consultant and teacher. It was a perfect day to celebrate spring.

Nadia addressed a captivated audience who listened intently to her story of being a former model and how ‘that life’ stole her joy from her.

She spoke of having issues with self-esteem, relationship problems and being unhappy with life.

Although she mixed with the upper-class and gained fame through modelling for FHM and Playboy, this left her feeling lonely. She shared how her spiritual journey with God liberated her and set her free, and how her personal encounter with Jesus made a difference in her life.

She is not modelling any longer, but is fulfilled in life by her current job and is happily married.
