Challenges include water statements not being issued on time. Customers are urged to make an effort to pay for their monthly consumption even if they have not received their bill. With regards to new water applications or change of ownership, the paperwork will not be processed right away.

Refunds will also not be processed but, once the system is running smoothly, payments will be made. “Our cash offices are not able to issue receipts at this stage,” said Zimbini Mpurwana of Ugu municipality.

Please feel free to use any Easypay outlet, Internet banking or over the counter. Please keep the slip.

She added: “A special unit will be set up to deal with any queries arising from this exercise. When asking questions or seeking assistance, please provide your specific account details; the team will gladly assist. We will update you at least on a weekly basis regarding the billing system.”
