Wild Coast Sun treats Eastern Cape children to fun day in memory of Winnie Mandela

The resort gave the children an opportunity to enjoy the park's attractions.

To remember Winnie Mandela, the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort hosted a number of schoolchildren from the Eastern Cape for a day at the Wild Waves Water Park. The children were treated to free snacks and soft drinks, together with free access to the park to enjoy all the rides and pools.

Wild Coast Sun’s public relations and promotions manager, Sandi Burger, told the Herald that treating the children from the Eastern Cape to an adventurous day at the park was part of their initiative to focus on Winnie Mandela, who was born in Bizana in 1936.

“We decided to honour this iconic symbol of South Africa’s anti-apartheid struggle. Winnie was instrumental in her role in campaigning for the rights of black South Africans and her husband’s release,” explained Sandi.
