Classical music delights audience

The trio gave a varied selection of classical music.

Talented performers, Margriet Deppe-Mutsaerts, Anele Mnguni and David Smith offered a delightful selection of classical music at Riverbend Art and Wine Gallery in Southbroom last Friday.

The concert was preceded by the customary free wine tasting.

Margriet worked as a lecturer at the University of the Free State before assuming her current position with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra; Anele joined the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra on its cadet programme and, two and half years later, was appointed sub-principal bassoonist.

David, after seven years as Professor of Opera and Choral Art at the former Natal University, retired and now performs regularly with the Baroque 2000 Ensemble, among others.

The trio has played at many highly successful evenings and earned rave reviews.
