Tuning In: Restaurant owner donates to 4 Paws

Nicky relies on donations to feed and look after more than 100 dogs.

Nicky Koekemoer does some incredible work through her NPO, 4 Paws Rescue Centre, in rescuing and feeding dogs in need in the Scottburgh area.

The Bell Restaurant recently donated R2000, which will go towards buying bricks to build retaining walls for dog enclosures.

The donation was handed over by owner Debbie Anderson.

In other news, the Shelly Beach Grannies’ Craft Club, led by Petro du Plooy, embarked on a heart-warming journey to The Elders’ Voice in Pennington, alongside 12 cherished grannies from the club.

Petro’s assistant, Victoria Gutzeit, together with Ria Liebenberg and Anne de Klerk, also joined in to spend time with the elders, enhancing the camaraderie and spreading more joy throughout the day.

Upon arrival, one of the club’s grannies, whose parent resides at The Elder’s Voice, led the group on a tour of the assisted living facility.

Teatime followed, where volunteers laid out treats and served them to around 50 of the residents.

It was a lovely time for good conversation, laughter, and story-sharing.

The highlight of the day was unveiling the beautiful goodies the Grannies’ Craft Club had tirelessly knitted over the past weeks.

From fidget blankets to cosy beanies, each item was crafted with love, ready to bring comfort to those in need.

With hearts full of appreciation, these handmade treasures were handed over to the staff of The Elders’ Voice, knowing they would be cherished by all who received them.

There is now a challenge: The Elders’ Voice is in need of essentials like milk and toilet paper.

If you have any unused items in your cupboard, whether it’s jelly, tinned food or other necessities, please drop them off at Live Love Laugh in Pennington.
