Netbal is natuurlik Chinique se passie. Sy het die Ugu netbal span behaal, sy is kaptein van die skool se eerste span. Sy speel ook klubnetbal en word uitgenooi om vir ‘n hoërskool se eerste span te speel.
Chinique is reeds ook ‘n afrigter by haar netbal klub waar sy O8 tot O12 spanne afrig.
Sy is sterk akademies en werk hard om ‘n hoë standaard te behou aangesien sy graag neurochirurgie wil gaan studeer.

Israel Bekele, a Grade 7 learner at Izotsha Primary School is a mature, self-driven, polite, motivated learner who takes her school work very seriously.
Furthermore, she is exceptionally helpful and self-disciplined with very good moral values and a strong sense of what is right.
Israel sets high personal goals and tries her best to ensure that she achieves them. She is incredibly kind, compassionate, loyal and trustworthy.
Israel is an enthusiastic and committed member of the girls’ U13A soccer team. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books, singing songs and writing short stories. For relaxation she enjoys drawing as it helps her process her thoughts.
Academically, History is her favourite subject, followed by Maths. Israel dislikes dishonesty. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Her role model is her older cousin Abenezer who lives in America. He lost his mother as a baby. Although he suffered, he persevered and worked hard. At the age of 18, he left Ethiopia and all his family to study at a university in America. At 24, his hard work is paying off. He taught her to always give of her best and to understand that there is always room for improvement.

Phiwokuhle Ngcobo (14) is one of the oldest students at CS Learning Centre, and certainly one with a big presence.
He joined the school a few months ago and has already made a big impact on everyone’s lives.
Phiwokuhle has an independent strength of will, makes his own decisions and is not easily deterred. His strong character stands him in good stead and he is able to achieve what he sets his mind to.
Phiwokuhle loves to laugh, jump on the trampoline and swing as high as he can in hopes of taking off.
He enjoys singing, and will often energetically participate in class. He has certainly made his mark at our school, and we are privileged to have him.

Thandolwethu Sililo, a Grade … learner at Southcity Christian Schools is one of those children who does not let much in the way of life fluster her. She is a quiet, well-mannered young lady who excels in all areas, the sports field, the classroom and is even comfortable in the cultural arena.
She has written and performed her own poetry on many occasions, both in and out of the classroom. He wonderful feel for public speaking shows her confidence and her quiet demeanour.
Thandolwethu is a formidable hockey player and has been chosen for the KZN hockey U13 team. She also excels at netball and her sportsmanship is an example to her peers.
She is quite at ease in the classroom as well, where she continually exceeds both her own and her educators’ expectations. She is a fantastic learner and her work ethic is consistent and of an exceptionally high standard.

With joyful exuberance Fanele will seek you out for conversation and loves to be a part of all social interactions. He tries hard in class and wants to do well, he works hard to please his educagos. His adorable smile and cherubic face is always one of the first to greet you in the morning, and it certainly makes for a happy start to the day.

Nathan Lewis is a star Grade 7 learner at Port Edward Primary School. This diligent young man is a talented all-rounder, who excels in many areas.
Nathan is the school’s Head Boy for 2023, and was also nominated by his peers to be the Dolphin sporting house captain for the year.
He has consistently obtained excellent academic results throughout primary school, and received his full academic colours at the end of 2022. Nathan is a keen all-round sportsman, and participates in first team cricket, rugby and soccer, as well as athletics and squad swimming.
Nathan was awarded the Senior Victor Ludorum award at the end of the swimming season. Nathan has been a valuable and consistent player on the cricket team, and was awarded his SKZN colours for the U13 squad recently.
He is also well-known in the school community for being a most fearless and tenacious rugby player – a true testimony to the saying that ‘dynamite comes in small packages’.
The school is extremely proud of Nathan, and wish him well with his future endeavours.

Tiaan is akademies sterk. Sy gunstelling vak is wiskunde, hy is baie slim met nommers.
Hy is omtrent ‘n Superstêr wanneer dit by sport kom. Hy swem graag en het aan die interskole-gala deelgeneem. Hy laat nie op hom wag wanneer dit by atletiek kom nie. Hy was die ouderdomswenner vir O/12 by die Interhuis atletiekbyeenkoms.
Rugby is sy gunsteling sportsoort. Hy neem op verskeie gebiede deel en spandeer heelwat tyd aan klub-rugby. Hy het SKZN kleure verwerf waar hy as beste speler gekies is en ook kaptein was. Daarna is hy na Durban uitgenooi waar hy gekies is vir die O/12 Sharks span. Sy ouers en afrigter het hom by hierdie spog-seremonie ondersteun waar hy ‘n das met die Sharks logo op ontvang het.
Hy wil bittergraag ‘n professionele rugbyspeler word, maar om ‘n argitek te word is ook ‘n groot droom. Hy het ‘n passie vir ontwerpe van geboue.

A Grade 12 learner at Creston College, Dallin Naicker’s commitment to academics is commendable.
In Grades 4-7 while at Scottburgh Primary he obtained eight distinctions and received the Dux Award in Grade 7.
In Grades 8-11 he attained eight distinctions and was placed first in Grades 9 and 10.
He consistently showed respect for both peers and educators. He received the Platinum Award for the Conquesta Olympiad. As an academic captain, he is an inspiration.
His friendly, positive and kind attitude stood him in good stead when he was appointed as a SRC member and prefect.
In Grade 12, Dallin was placed second in the grade in term one and two with an average of 91%.
Dallin has achieved an aggregate of 91% based on his Grade 12 marks.

Jezelle Govender is a bright, confident Grade 11 learner at Port Shepstone Secondary School.
She is a conscientious leader at her school and has excelled academically since primary school. This consistent achiever received the highly coveted Dux award in Grade 7.
Jezelle is an all-rounder who has striking leadership skills which ensured her position as head girl in Grade 7 RCL in the GET phase, and off late she represented her school at a week-long Rotary leadership course.
This young orator participated in the Rotary Team Talk Competition as well as the Afrikaans Speech Contest. She participated in the Tweni beach clean up recently and was invited to UKZN Bursary Programme in July. She also received student level credential for completing the introduction to cybersecurity course at Cisco Networking Academy in April.
She enjoys volleyball and swimming and plays the piano at her church. Her positive outlook on life ensures new adventures and new people are always in her path. Jezelle is now steering, full steam ahead in the direction of becoming a cybersecurity analyst.

Eben Botes ‘n Gr11 leerder van Hoërskool Suid Natal het weer uitgeblink die jaar van 2023 – Hy doen ongelooflik in Rugby die jaar, hy was by vele wedstryde uitgewys as ‘Man of the match’ en gekies vir spanne van KZN.
Hy doen nie net Rugby nie hy was in die seuns Hokkie span ook. En is nie net ‘n sport ster nie, het deel geneem as Finalis by Mnr en Mej Suid Natal en genomineer as Prefek vir 2024.

Eben was ook vir die 0/19 VKB span gekies wat aan die einde van die jaar Frankryk toe toer.
Ons is trotse Suidies om Eben as sports seun in die skool te hê.

Meriqé Pillay, a dedicated Grade 12 learner at Creston College, has excelled both academically and athletically during his 15-year journey at the school.
In primary school, he achieved the title of grade chess champion from Grade 1 -3 and later became the overall chess champion in junior primary.
He holds multiple athletic records and served as the junior leader and house athletic captain.
Additionally, Meriqé was appointed as an SRC representative and has been a member of the KZN coastal hockey team since Grade 8, earning a spot on the Coastal A-side.
In athletics, he ranked third in the province for 200m, second for long jump, and first for high jump, securing a place on the SA Athletics team. Academically, Meriqé excelled with a top 95 placement in South Africa for the Junior Math Olympiad and consistent achievements in Conquestas.
His leadership skills shone as Deputy Head Boy, and he maintained an impressive academic record, ranking first in Grade 11 and achieving an aggregate of 92% in Grade 12.

Sonali Samdhan, a Grade 8 learner at Port Shepstone Secondary performs at her best in all academic areas and has obtained excellent results throughout her schooling career. This self-motivated learner participated in several Mathematics and Science Olympiads, as well as language speech contests.
Taking first prize in the school’s most recent English speech contest was laudable. In 2022 she emerged triumphant as Dux Approximae and secured first position at circuit level for the Mathematics Olympiad.
This year, Sonali was elected as her class RCL. She displays exemplary learnership skills and diligently fulfils her roles and responsibilities. She is fondly known by family and friends for her creative artistic streak. She flanks the mindset of a go-getter thus paving the way for a bright future as criminal psychologist at tertiary level and beyond.
