Umdoni's mayor wishes the class of 2024 an abundance of success as they embark on a journey to further their studies in institutions of higher learning.

Ugu earned second position in the province with a 91.7% pass rate in the National Senior Certificate exams.

“This is proof that matric learners did indeed put their best foot forward and maintained a sterling result,” said Umdoni mayor, Clr Mbali Cele-Luthuli.

“We are indeed proud of your hard-work, resilience and dedication throughout the year.”

In Umdoni, Scottburgh High achieved a 98.2% pass rate. Other schools that performed well include Roseville Secondary (96.2%), Gugulesizwe Secondary (91.6%), Sihle High (90.5%), Umzinto Secondary (84.1%) and Malangeni Secondary (78.3 %).

On behalf of the municipality, Cele-Luthuli wishes the class of 2024 an abundance of success as they embark on a journey to further their studies in institutions of higher learning.

“We convey our most earnest gratitude to teachers, community leaders, friends and families of matric learners for giving them the required support to successfully complete their matric year,” she added.

“To those who did not succeed, we wish to encourage you not to despair, but ensure you register for rewrites. Success may not come at the same time for everyone, but it is an eventuality for us all.”
