LIVE REPORT: Comrades Marathon 2016

We are live at the 2016 Comrades Marathon, giving you all the updates as the race happens.

With over 20 000 entrants, the 91st edition of the Comrades Marathon has been an 89.2km test of endurance and willpower, and a very interesting day.

In the men’s race, Ludwick Mamabolo, Gift Kelehe, Bongmusa Mthembu and Swede Jonas Buud were favourites, but the winner ended up being David Gatebe in an incredible new record time. The women’s race is has been won by Charne Bosman, who passed defending champion Caroline Wostmann after the latter suffered an evident injury while leading the race.
