Busy month ahead for sports punters

The month of August signals the start of a number of major sporting events which in turn means a busy time for punters as the various options are studied for profitable gains.

Of immediate importance is tomorrow’s conclusion to the Super Rugby competition when the Waratahs and Crusaders meet in the final in Sydney.

The bookmakers have priced up the hosts at 15/20 for the showpiece match while the New Zealanders, who dismantled the Sharks in last weekend’s semifinal, are at 11/10 to lift the trophy.

Turning to golf and the matter of the year’s final Major when the US PGA Championship tees off at Valhalla next week with every one of the players in the world’s top 100 confirmed entrants.
