Imagine for a moment that you are a seven-year-old child playing like seven-year-olds do and a freak accident occurs which requires immediate surgery.

You wake up the next morning and realise one arm has to be amputated. What would your outlook on life be?

Stop imagining. This actually happened to young Jerry De Faria-Lopes. Jerry fortunately had a great family support system and was taught from a young age that he need not see his disability as a disadvantage, but rather as a strength.
