As expected, Stormers coach Allister Coetzee recalled his two big-name Springboks, centre Jean de Villiers, who takes over the captaincy from No 8 Duane Vermeulen, and flanker Schalk Burger.

Burger and the Cheetahs ball scavenger Heinrich Brussow are expected to be involved in a breakdown battle of massive proportions.

De Villiers replaces new Bok training squad member Damian de Allende who moves out to the right wing in place of Kobus van Wyk, who drops to the bench.

Burger replaces Siya Kolisi who will start on the bench.

Magical Springbok playmaker Willie le Roux has been earmarked by the Stormers as one of the big dangermen in the Cheetahs outfit.

Coetzee, who named five changes to his team yesterday, said they would take cogniscance of their previous 35-22 defeat in Bloemfontein.

“We learnt a few lessons from our defeat last time out. On that occasion we gave the Cheetahs too much space,” said Coetzee yesterday.

“We allowed them to get into that space, which you cannot do against them as they have players like Willie le Roux who will punish you.”

Flyhalf Peter Grant has been demoted to the bench with the attacking prowess of Kurt Coleman preferred on this occasion.

On the loosehead, young Alistair Vermaak gets his first start after his impressive performance last week against the Force.
