Young Lions flyhalf Jaco van der Walt is in a race against time to get fit for this weekend Absa Currie Cup clash against the EP Kings in Port Elizabeth.

Lions coach Johan Ackermann said this morning Van der Walt faces a final fitness test on his knee on Thursday morning before a final call will be made.

“Alternatively we could give Stokkies Hanekom another chance as I thought he didn’t do too badly last weekend against WP considering it was his first game at 10,” he said.
