Elstadt was suspended for three weeks this morning for charging into a ruck dangerously in the Currie Cup match against the EP Kings last Friday.
The player will only be allowed to return to action on September 30.
Elstadt received a yellow card for the incident, which was in breach of Law 10.4 (h), in the 57th minute of the match and was subsequently cited. He appeared at a Saru disciplinary hearing in Cape Town yesterday.
Law 10.4 (h) states that a player must not charge into a ruck or maul without the use of the arms or without grasping a player.
The judicial officer, Advocate Rob Stelzner, described the incident as a mid-range offence.
After taking all mitigating factors into account, he suspended Elstadt for three weeks.
